Emergency response
Emergency vehicles - ambulance, fire engine and hearse - have priority over everything else. Pull to the side and let them pass; do not try to keep ahead of them.
At an accident: stop, make the scene safe, help the injured, and inform the police. Leaving the scene is a more serious offence than the accident.
The Nepal emergency numbers are 100 for police, 102 for an ambulance and 101 for fire.
If police arrive, do not disturb the scene. Others present should help rather than crowd, and should leave the positions of the vehicles alone until they are recorded.
