As of 15 Jul 2026, petrol in Kathmandu Valley retails at Rs 197.00 per litre and diesel at Rs 195.00, as published by Nepal Oil Corporation. Nepal Rastra Bank's reference rate puts the US dollar at Rs 154.28 (selling), with Indian rupees 100 at Rs 160.15 on 22 Jul 2026. Retail petrol, diesel, kerosene and LPG prices are fixed by the state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation, which imports fuel from Indian Oil Corporation and revises pump rates whenever its import cost moves. Prices are marginally higher outside the Kathmandu Valley to cover transport, so the exact figure depends on your region.
