Every private vehicle pays an annual tax set by its provincial government, based on the vehicle type and engine capacity (or motor power for electric vehicles). You pay this tax together with a small bluebook renewal fee at the Transport Office, and you must have valid third-party insurance to renew.
The rates shown here are for Bagmati Province, FY 2082/83. Bagmati generally has the highest rates in the country; other provinces set their own rates, and they change each fiscal year — so treat this as an estimate and confirm the exact figure with your Transport Office.
